How to Use Real World Map
1. Search for a Country
Start by entering the name of a country in the search bar. Once selected, a polygon representing the country’s exact shape and size will appear on the Google Map.
2. Drag and Compare Country Sizes
You can click and drag the polygon representing the country to move it around on the map. As you move it, the shape adapts to the Earth's curvature, showing its true size in relation to other countries on the map. This allows you to visually compare actual country sizes.
3. View Population Information
Hover over the country polygon (or, on mobile devices, tap or drag over it) to see a tooltip with detailed information. The tooltip displays the following:
- 2024 Population
- Projected Population for 2030
- Projected Population for 2050
4. Additional Country Details
The tooltip also includes other essential details about each country, such as:
- Country's surface area
- UN membership status
5. Explore the Map Further
Experiment by moving different countries and comparing their sizes to discover how differently countries appear on a map depending on location. This interactive feature offers a better understanding of the true scale and geographical diversity of our world.
